Most mornings in Richardson start in a car. Drive-through coffee, highway on-ramp, gone. This is a different kind of morning. A walking morning, for the days when you are not in a rush and want to see what is actually here.
7:00 - Coffee
Start at Moon Wolf Provisions on Custer Road. Doors open at seven. The espresso machine is already warm.
Order a cortado if you want to taste the coffee. Order a cold brew if you want to feel the caffeine. Grab a bagel from Starship or a pastry from La Casita. Both arrive fresh before doors open at seven.
8:00 - Walk
South on Custer toward the Heights neighborhood.
Mature trees, mid-century homes, quiet streets that feel nothing like the strip-mall corridors a few blocks over. Richardson has more canopy than people expect. Morning light through the oaks is worth the walk alone.
9:00 - Browse
Circle back toward Main Street in downtown Richardson. Shops open around nine. Not a retail destination. A neighborhood commercial street with a bookstore, a few boutiques, and the kind of small businesses that know their regulars by name. The scale is human. Nothing is trying too hard.
10:00 - Sit
If you are still out, find a bench at Crowley Park near downtown. Bring a book or do not. Richardson is a good place to do nothing for twenty minutes.
Or come back to Moon Wolf. The mid-morning light hits the bar differently. And the second cup always tastes better when you have walked for it.
Moon Wolf Provisions. 920 Custer Road, Richardson, TX. Open Tuesday through Saturday, seven to three. Sunday, eight to two. The morning is better on foot.
